Robot Mania I: Proposing

Hello there…

This time I’m gonna build a small robot which can operate with user’s control mode as well as autonomous mode.

Hmmm…. How to build a small robot ?

I am planning to use the common microcontroller which is easily obtainable in today’s market. Arduino Uno R3.This toy has helped me to conduct so many projects ever since the day I know nothing about computer programming.

The robot should be capable of conducting four different basic functions. The first one must be the light follower robot. LSR has appeared in my previous post. That was also my first project made during my first semester. Well, I am a beginner in that moment; my robot seems to be too awkward to move and insensitive to light source, The second robot is bumping robot. The sensors shall attached on the front-lower part of the robot. Whenever it hits an object, it will turn to the opposite direction. The third duty to be performed by the robot is obstacle avoidance. The concept is similar to the previous one. However,it uses a ultrasonic ranging sensor.

After a review was made on numerous models online, I found that most of the toys is not within my budget. I am also convinced that all those parts have their reasonable price. Probably, I am cheapskate because I don’t want to overspend on all those high quality kits.

I am on my plan to use every possible recycled materials to counter the cost issue.

Stay tuned for my next post.

Ciaos…
