Robot Mania II: Selection of Materials

Hello…

Prior to my previous section, my next step is to gather as many old recyclable stuff as possible for the mini robot building process. Nonetheless, those things must match my criteria which are reliable and handy. Upon clearing my stores, I have found some useful stuffs that suits my purpose.

a) Compilation of old CDs

I used it as the main chassis. Few holes were drilled on it with correct dimensions. Nuts and bolts are used to connect all the pieces.

b) Old stacks of ice-cream stick. Stack of Wooden sticks are strong and usable to hold the sensors.

c) Old screws, nuts, bolts and washer. They are my good companion whenever I want to merge different parts and shape into one.

On the other hand, I have included many other electronic components to complete my design.

d)Jumper wires.

e)Soldered and detachable components like potentiometer, buzzer,ic holder, led, RGB led, positive and negative rails, ultrasonic ranging sensor holder.

f)Bumper switches

g)LDR with super bright red color led as line follower robot’s sensor.

h)Self-made Motor shield (front view and back view)

i)Tamiya gearbox sets.

j)Bluetooth module (HC-05)

k)Ulrasonic Ranging Sensor

l)Lightweight Servo motor

m)Power Bank

n)Arduino Uno or CIKU as microcontroller

Tools needed as usual Pliers, Precision tool kits and Screwdriver.

Mini hand drill(1.0mm, 1.5mm and 3.0 mm)

In my next section, I will start to share on how to build up a small robot.

Thank you.
