Hey guys,
I guess this post would be so different from any other ones. Why ? It's about the art of repairing and creating. The reason is. To save money. LOL. I'm a stupid yet good recycling agent. I have tonnes of trash in my room. Parents used to mumble of having an untidy and a garbage store in my workspace. How did I give a response ? One man's trash is another man's treasure.
It shall be simplier. It's my lovely girlfriend's belonging. She really hates the noise and small disturbance whenever her music mode's ON. Gosh. Endless lament with her earphone. I have decided to buy her a new one. Wait a minute. How about the old one? I did repair mine as well. My current Edifier H840 works fine.
The possible noise or the buzzing of the music played is probably the copper's wire faulty or spoiled jack plug. I bought a fresh jack plug from a store nearby Jalan Pasar at Pudu. 3.5 mm stereo male. It worth RM 0.80 only. The normal plastic cap type is just RM 0.40.
The needed tools are:
- Helping hand
- Tweezer
- Pliers/Wire stripper
- Soldering iron
Remove the cap. Remove the old jack plug. Strip the wires. Understand the connection wisely. The ground(bronze) is always attached to the longer piece of jack. Greenish metallic and Reddish metallic represent left and right audio signal.
Solder it properly.
Insert the plastic wire insulator.
Tighten the cap afterwards.
Yea. It's done. Next, you can try to use some software to test the audio signal's quality(I do not wish to disclose it here).
I'm sure the overall impedance would be different.
For all audiophiles(including me), don't complain over the slight or more downgraded quality.
I still bought her a new alike earphone...hahaha
Thank you.
